Position Summary

The Freight Broker I plays a pivotal role in sourcing optimal carrier solutions for transportation requirements within designated domestic regions across the United States for ODW customers. Reporting directly to the Brokerage - Region Lead, this role will collaborate within the Regional Team framework to ensure ODW effectively meets the demands of both customers and carriers, fostering successful partnerships and operational excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Use historical data to maximize short- and long-term profitability by covering freight at optimal profit levels
  • Accurately measure count and percentage of loads covered and given back to ensure business performs within goal rate
  • Provide assistance in carrier vetting with Fraud Protection on new carrier onboarding
  • Assist with maintenance of current carrier relationships
  • Ability to negotiate freight costs with carriers
  • Assist your assigned region and maintain effective communication with carriers
  • Assist with communicating market trends and pricing
  • All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school or GED diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Less than 1 year(s) of supply chain industry experience
  • Previous knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Terminal Services and Virtual/Thin client architecture preferred
