Quality Control Coder - Distribution
The Quality Control Coder - Distribution works within the corporate Distribution Operations organization to research, analyze, design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for our software applications. The ideal candidate will have strong coding skills, experience in automated testing tools, and a deep understanding of software development, QA processes, and operational best practices. The candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, working closely with development teams to ensure the quality and performance of our applications through efficient and effective testing strategies. This position sits within Distribution Operations and reports to the Manager of WMS Distribution Systems.
Responsibilities
- Test Script Development: Write and maintain automated test scripts to validate functionality, performance, and security of software applications.
- Test Frameworks: Develop and implement automated test frameworks using system agnostic best in class tools.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work with developers, product managers, and QA teams to understand requirements and build comprehensive test cases.
- Test Execution: Execute automated test cases and analyze results to ensure code integrity and performance.
- Bug Identification: Identify, log, and track bugs in software applications and collaborate with the development team to resolve issues and to provide root cause analysis.
- Performance Testing: Develop and run tests to evaluate application performance under different scenarios, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Continuous Integration (CI): Integrate automated tests into CI pipelines, ensuring smooth, continuous feedback on the stability of the product.
- Test Documentation: Document test procedures, findings, and results clearly to facilitate knowledge sharing, to ensure reproducibility, and for future reference and audits.
- Test Optimization: Review and refactor existing test scripts to improve efficiency and reduce execution time.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years in development, software testing, and/or test automation preferred or applicable certifications.
- Proven experience in writing and executing automated test scripts.
- Familiarity with testing frameworks.
- Experience in continuous integration and testing pipelines.
- Experience with the following programming languages is a plus: Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, Ruby.
- 2+ years Warehouse Management Solution (WMS) experience on a Tier 1 platform (highly preferred): Manhattan WMOS/Active and JDA/Blue Yonder.
- Familiarity with API tools.
- Proficiency in preparing test data / scripts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Adept in office productivity tools including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and others.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and platforms.
- Accelerate follow-up and action to resolve issues.
- Flexibility to accommodate deliverables and prioritize work effectively.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to provide off-hours support to business operations as necessary.
- Strong confidentiality practices.
- Travel required for projects up to 10%.
We are excited to share that the base salary range for this position is $61,386.00 - 81,848.00, based on the national average for the position. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, targeted at 5%. NFI takes into consideration applicants' qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location when determining a starting rate of pay.
