Product Packaging Designer

Design's product packaging to ensure product integrity and appeal under varying shipping and display conditions. Tests, analyzes, and selects materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness.

Essential Job Functions

  • Develop creative concept renderings of both permanent and temporary displays
  • Provide guidance for graphic designers
  • Work directly with vendors and customers as required for display projects
  • Design and build Structural Display concepts using Artios CAD / Solidworks
  • Modify display components and generate Specification Packages using Artios CAD / Solidworks
  • Create display assembly instructions and renderings using Solidworks
  • Display assembly and loading of client product into displays
  • Build and organize Product library of images to be used for rendering purposes
  • Operate Kongsberg Cutting Table for sample making of Corrugated Display Components
  • Supervise the execution of ship tests
  • Ensures and supports to make sure Food safety, Quality, HACCP and GMP is always followed

Education & Experience

  • Technical degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proficient in the use of current design software (i.e. Artios, SOLIDWORKS, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
  • Must have corrugate box, display or print experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of the existing and planned approaches and methods for manufacturing products or product components
  • Knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques for designing, building and managing the manufacture of new products
  • Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables for the design of new products and the enhancement of existing products; ability to apply the methodology in diverse scenarios
  • Knowledge of the methodology and associated phases, activities and deliverables for manufacturing new or enhancing existing products
  • Ability to design, plan and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Primarily works in an office environment with occasional time spent in a production and/or warehouse setting
  • Position may be based at Menasha Packaging site or customer location
  • Occasional travel required
  • Frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
