Job Description

This role is responsible for leading and managing the Freight Forwarding Field Sales teams and sales activities at country level. The position ensures the development and growth of the country's own controlled freight forwarding business across small, medium, and large customers, while also supporting and growing business generated through the DP World network outside the country, contributing to overall country performance.

The role is accountable for defining, executing, and achieving sales targets in alignment with the European growth strategy. This includes close coordination with regional and global account management teams, overseeing sales execution and customer care activities, and driving marketing initiatives in line with regional and global strategies and policies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Growing the business and sales turnover by leading and managing the sales team of the Freight Forwarding branches in an encouraging and inspiring "growth mentality" way
  • Driving and managing the sales activities of the country
  • Execution of the sales strategy as outlined by regional and global guidelines
  • Setting sales targets and monitoring achievement & CRM compliance of sales targets with the sales team
  • Collaborate together with the Vertical Leaders, their Account Management of Europe to ensure a smooth customer-facing approach
  • Ensure cross-selling activities together with road freight, contract logistics and inland terminals / P&T activities by aligning with sales colleagues from all DP World entities
  • Manage trade lane sales activities by liaising with DP World's trade-lane management team
  • Use your own Book Of Business (BOB) to help the sales team to generate additional revenues
  • Undertake market analysis and competitive research in the local market

Your Profile

  • Proven track record in field sales, with at least 5 years of recent and relevant sales management experience in Freight Forwarding. Freight Forwarding experience is mandatory (min. 10 years).
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, develop, and encourage others to positively contribute to business goals and objectives.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly customer- and solution-oriented, with a strong focus on value creation.
  • Ability to communicate with clients, carriers, other forwarders, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Result-oriented in handling competing priorities and meeting deadlines and commitments; you always demonstrate a "can do" positive attitude.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes, manage complex challenges, and develop creative, innovative solutions.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany up to 40% of the time
