We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Operations Superintendent to join the leadership team at West Swanson Terminal — one of Australia's key container terminal operations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is a critical frontline leadership role responsible for the safe, efficient and commercially effective execution of Terminal operations across a complex 24/7 environment.
Leading a team of five Operations Supervisors and overseeing a large operational workforce, you will play a pivotal role in driving operational performance, maintaining service delivery to our customers and ensuring the terminal operates safely and productively around the clock.
This is a hands-on operational leadership position where you will make real-time decisions, lead high-performing teams and manage competing operational priorities in a fast-paced maritime environment.
About the Role
As Operations Superintendent, you will take ownership of day-to-day terminal operations including vessel, yard and landside activities. You will provide visible leadership across the terminal, ensuring operational plans are executed safely, efficiently and in line with customer and business expectations.
Working in partnership with planning, maintenance, safety and customer-facing teams, you will be accountable for operational outcomes including productivity, safety performance, labour utilisation and service delivery.
You will also play a key role in coaching and developing your supervisory team, driving accountability and fostering a high-performance culture across the operation.

About You
You are an experienced operational leader who thrives in fast-moving, complex industrial environments. You bring strong leadership capability, sound operational judgement and the ability to influence outcomes through people.
You will ideally have experience within container terminal operations, ports, logistics, transport, mining, manufacturing or other large-scale industrial operations.

Roster & Working Environment
This role operates on roster across 7 days of 4 x 12-hour day shifts on / 4 days off.
The role is shared with another Operations Superintendent, with both positions working collaboratively to ensure consistent leadership coverage across terminal operations, including weekends and public holidays.
