Finance Director
The Finance Director plays a central role in managing the financial, tax, legal, and corporate secretarial affairs of DP World's global business units and joint ventures held through the Netherlands. Reporting to the Vice President Group Tax, this position provides strategic guidance, ensures high-quality financial reporting, and safeguards compliance across a broad international portfolio. The role requires independent decision-making, strong cross-regional collaboration, and the ability to operate confidently in a multicultural, senior-level environment.
How you will contribute:
- Lead all accounting and financial reporting activities for global business units and joint ventures held through the Netherlands.
- Interpret financial and legal matters raised by regional teams across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, and Australia.
- Serve as the Dutch-resident Statutory Director for approximately 25–30 entities, ensuring full governance and compliance.
- Manage the financial aspects of acquisitions, disposals, and reorganizations in close collaboration with Group Finance, Corporate Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and regional offices.
- Prepare multi-currency month-end financial statements and reporting schedules for the Dubai Head Office.
- Oversee all Dutch tax reporting and compliance, including VAT, and coordinate with external advisors when needed.
- Confirm intercompany balances and provide monthly working capital and cash requirement estimates.
- Prepare and submit statutory accounts for all Dutch reporting entities.
- Lead half-yearly and annual financial and tax reporting to Dubai.
- Provide strategic financial advice to European group companies and act as a key consultant on complex financial matters.
- Manage corporate secretariat responsibilities, including entity setup, board meetings, resolutions, statutory filings, and record maintenance.
- Coordinate external service providers and ensure adherence to local compliance requirements.
- Oversee company liquidations and due-diligence processes across the Netherlands portfolio.
- Conduct timely financial analysis in line with IFRS and address identified issues.
- Manage corporate office costs, annual budgeting, and reporting coordination with Dubai.
- Consolidate and liaise with Finance Directors across business units held through the Dutch structure.
- Ensure accurate CBS and Dutch Central Bank reporting.
What you will bring:
- A Master's degree in Economics and a recognized financial qualification (CA, CPA, RA, ACCA or equivalent).
- 10–15 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally gained within a Big Four firm and/or a multinational environment.
- Senior-level expertise in managing complex financial operations in the private sector.
- Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and seniority levels.
- Broad commercial awareness and the ability to translate business needs into sound financial decisions.
- Experience in port management, container, or logistics industries is an advantage.
- Fluency in Dutch and English; German is a plus.
- Sufficient local experience and authority to support the substance requirements of the Netherlands office.
- A structured, reliable, and independent working style suited to a standalone leadership role.
