Leads and directs activities of the Commercial Contract Management function in the Americas involving contractual negotiations and commercial obligations arising from services performed by DSC for its customers. Assess contractual relationships and provide support to all business teams to determine DSCs overall commercial position and negotiation strategy; training to business on commercial and contractual matters; active coordination with Legal Services function for the Americas Region with respect to workload, budget, overall functional planning and administration; participation in setting global objectives supporting Legal Services activities related to customer contracts; responsible for carrying out contract protocol within Region; responsible for contracts database within region and assisting with global effort; also responsible for leveraging AI and technology to streamline output of CCM team with a view to delivering services with maximum efficiency and at a total lower cost, where appropriate. Engages with Legal Services and Risk Management regarding standard and non-standard risks and overall risk profile; personally active in negotiations regarding global customers/contracts. Actively participates in the global Supply Chain Legal Practice Group.
Overall management of function, coordination with legal services function and risk management; global coordination. Assessment of business profile; project objectives; risk/reward profile; compliance with contract protocol; preparation of contract summaries; escalation of non-standard risks. Facilitate and manage internal process, reviews and associated communications internally and externally. Facilitate and manage legal counsel participation and other functional resources participation in contract negotiations. Ensures appropriate training is delivered to the business. Provides direction and communicates on CCM goals & objectives. Completion of customer contracts, prior to business start-up and within DHL approved contract protocol. Appropriate escalation of non-standard risks as outlined in contract protocol. Application of a consistent contractual process across business divisions within the region and transfer of best practice globally. Performs other duties as required.
Required Education and Experience: BA or BS Degree in Business or Relevant Field, required. JD degree and relevant experience, preferred. Master's Degree in Business or Relevant Field, preferred. 15+ years of experience with contract negotiations and development, required. General business knowledge and administrative skills including finance, operations, regulatory, legal concepts, and risk management, required. Proven ability to lead and manage team of professionals engaged in complex transactions and projects, required.
