Position Summary
DHL Express Americas is seeking a results-driven and analytical Sustainability Finance Intern for the summer term. In this role, you will support the regional Finance and Sustainability teams by developing a streamlined tool to track and report Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) across multiple countries in the Americas region.
You will have the opportunity to directly contribute to our regional Safety & ESG reporting framework, enhance data accuracy, and improve the visibility of safety performance—driving meaningful improvements for our people and our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a tool (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or other suitable platform) to streamline the tracking, consolidation, and reporting of LTIFR for DHL Express Americas.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of safety performance data received from multiple countries and Hubs within the region.
- Validate data quality and ensure consistency in formulas, methodologies, and reporting logic used for LTIFR calculations.
- Develop automated calculations for multi-country and regional-level metrics, ensuring correct application of DHL Express global definitions and standards.
- Support the documentation of processes, assumptions, and calculation methodologies for long-term handover and governance.
- Partner with Safety, HR, and Finance teams to gather requirements and integrate best practices into the tool's design.
- Assist with ad-hoc sustainability performance analysis, dashboards, and reporting tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Business, Sustainability, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.
- Proficiency in Excel required; experience with Power BI, Python, or other data tools is a plus.
- Interest in Sustainability, ESG reporting, or Occupational Safety metrics.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Self-starter with a curiosity for process improvement and data integrity.
