Summer OTC Finance Intern – DHL Express Americas

Position Summary
DHL Express Americas is seeking a motivated and analytical OTC Finance Intern to support the regional Finance team during the summer term. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a streamlined reporting tool to enhance visibility and accuracy across key OTC performance indicators for multiple countries in the Americas region. Your work will directly contribute to improved operational efficiency and data quality, enabling regional leaders to make faster, more informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop an automated reporting tool (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or other platforms) to consolidate Order to Cash performance data from various countries / customer accounts in the region.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting by standardizing data sources, structures, and validation checks.
- Design and maintain calculation logic for key OTC KPIs, including aging, DSO, billing quality, collections performance, disputes, and more.
- Create regional roll-ups and multi-country comparisons using consistent methodologies aligned with DHL Express global and regional standards.
- Partner with Americas Key Accounts Desk & Head of OTC Finance to understand current processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Support ongoing process documentation, data governance, and tool handover materials for long-term sustainability.
- Assist with ad-hoc OTC analysis, dashboards, and reporting enhancements as needed.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and work with large datasets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required; experience with Power BI, SQL, or other reporting tools is a plus.
- Interest in Finance, Order to Cash processes, process improvement, or data analytics.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different countries.
- A proactive mindset with curiosity for building tools, improving processes, and enhancing data quality.
