Operations Trainee

DHL Global Forwarding has an opening for Operations Trainee in Gabon. In this specific position you will provide day-to-day administrative support with readily available advice for operations processes and activities to deliver a smooth supply chain and operational model for the targeted business volumes, meet products/services standards and exceed quality standards in line with business strategy and objectives, corporate guidelines and policies.

In this Operations Trainee position

• You will support the delivery of operations processes and activities under direct supervision.
• You will perform assigned tasks of generally repetitive nature to support other team members at the transport and distribution unit or department.
• You will conduct tasks to maintain vehicles and equipment in working order.
• You will collect/deliver shipments within specified time by planning routes, liaising with external departments, and ensuring timely communications.
• You will carry out standard loading/unloading of the loading unit/loading security.
• You will record routine loading/unloading activities at the customer end through appropriate tools, scanning applications, phones, etc.
• You will enter data into the database or computerized system to maintain up-to-date transportation records and to track the status of orders and deliveries.
• You will contact shipping agencies, transport companies, and customers to verify delivery prices and schedules.
• You will respond promptly and accurately to routine internal and customer inquiries on delivery times and the status of shipments and orders.
• You will follow and achieve compliance with set processes and policies.
• You will check recurring routine issues faced during delivery; if necessary, you will escalate to the supervisor for inputs and guidance.

• Skills: Dispatching, Shipping, Transportation, Warehousing, Business Administration, Data Entry, Loading, Scanning, Inventory Management, DHL Business Knowledge, Business Processes, Stakeholder Management, Feedback.
• Education Level: Vocational/Specialized/Technical/Certification.
• Experience Level: less than 2 years
