Job Purpose: Support the development and administration of IT user support plans and processes to deliver effective technical support for hardware and software systems. Provide and implement reliable technical services to users across the organization and business entities, ensuring seamless internal and customer integration solutions. Align all support activities with business objectives, as well as global, regional, and group standards for processes, security, and policies.
Key Tasks:
- Administer and execute IT user support activities to resolve hardware, software, and desktop-based system issues for internal and external users.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Customer Access systems, end-user computing environments, and PCLAN hardware/software, including coordination with Infrastructure/Network teams.
- Manage incidents and service requests end-to-end (logging, assignment, resolution) in line with defined procedures, ensuring accurate documentation and knowledge base enrichment.
- Perform user and system administration via Active Directory and support HP-UX environments, including server documentation and system availability.
- Deliver and maintain LAN operations, including software upgrades, hardware integrity, antivirus updates (NGWS), and physical connectivity for desktops, laptops, and Windows servers.
- Support country-level IT operations, including help desk activities, server administration, and infrastructure performance (availability, resilience, and security).
- Monitor and ensure compliance with IT security policies, physical security standards, software licensing, and global IS/GIS requirements.
- Coordinate vendor and supplier activities, including contract management, escalation handling, hardware repairs, and service performance.
- Maintain accurate inventory control and reporting of hardware and software assets, including lifecycle tracking and replacement planning.
- Support business-critical operational equipment (e.g. Zebra handheld devices, cargo scanning units, MHE systems) and liaise with external support providers for issue resolution.
- Contribute to service quality through ticket reviews, data analysis, and identification of trends; recommend process improvements, tools, and standards.
- Provide guidance and training to IT staff and users, ensuring alignment with evolving technologies, tools, and support practices.
Qualifications & Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience/qualification
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English (written and spoken).
- Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate technical initiatives.
- Strong technical expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, automated Windows scripting, and email service management.
- Solid knowledge of Internet/Intranet technologies, TCP/IP protocols, and LAN/WAN networking (including Ethernet-based high-speed networks and switching equipment).
- Good understanding of IT security, including data protection and computerized warehouse environments.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in computer systems management and IT infrastructure support.
- Good understanding of logistics and transportation operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with DHL proprietary systems and server/software environments.
