Being a General Manager at DHL Supply Chain means taking ownership of an entire operation and leading it with integrity, energy and purpose. You are the visible leader on site, setting the tone for safety, performance and culture, while bringing people together around clear objectives and shared priorities. Through strong leadership, performance dialogue and continuous improvement, you create an environment where teams are engaged, accountable and proud of the work they deliver.

The role is both operational and strategic, requiring you to think long-term while delivering results every day. You will shape the future of the site through structured development plans, talent growth and innovation, while ensuring today's operation runs safely, efficiently and profitably. At the heart of the role is people – building strong leadership capability, recognising contribution and creating a workplace where everyone can perform at their best.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Taking full accountability for site performance, ensuring health, safety, service, cost and people objectives are delivered consistently and sustainably.
• Setting clear operational priorities and leading the execution of short-, medium- and long-term plans to support growth, efficiency and profitability.
• Leading the senior leadership team through performance reviews, Gemba walks and structured performance dialogues to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensuring full compliance with all safety, legal, regulatory, security and DHL policy requirements, while actively promoting a strong Safety First culture.
• Reviewing operational, financial and people KPIs, taking decisive action where performance deviates from plan and removing barriers to success.
• Building strong commercial relationships and leading regular operational and strategic reviews to support retention, growth and continuous improvement.
• Owning site development and investment plans, balancing operational delivery with future capability, innovation and long-term site maturity.

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Are operations leaders with a proven track record of running large, complex retail logistics or supply chain operations, ideally within a 3PL or warehouse environment.
• Bring essential hands-on experience in retail supply chain operations, with a strong understanding of volume-driven, fast-moving, customer-critical logistics environments.
• Naturally lead from the front, inspiring high performance through visible leadership, engagement and empowerment of managers and frontline teams.
• Are comfortable balancing operational excellence with commercial, financial and strategic decision-making in a fast-paced environment.
• Have a strong passion for health & safety and continuously improving standards, behaviours and ways of working.
• Are motivated by developing talent, building succession, and creating a high-engagement culture where people feel valued, supported and challenged.
