Road Freight Transport Manager
We are looking for a detail-oriented professional to manage and coordinate end-to-end road freight transport operations. The role covers bookings, documentation, vendor coordination, and shipment execution, ensuring on-time delivery, compliance with transport regulations, cost efficiency, and an excellent customer experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate road freight movements (domestic and cross border import/export) from inquiry to final delivery.
- Create and manage transport orders, job orders, and bookings in systems.
- Plan cargo movements, consolidate shipments, and manage linehaul schedules (e.g. BKK–PEN–KUL–JHB–SIN lanes).
- Monitor shipment milestones, transit status, and delivery timelines; proactively resolve delays and exceptions.
- Liaise with transporters, haulers, warehouses, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
- Coordinate loading, arrival, and delivery schedules with vendors and customers.
- Monitor vendor performance, record service failures, and support corrective actions.
- Prepare and manage full sets of transport and shipment documentation (import/export).
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade terms (Incoterms), and DHL SOPs.
- Update shipment status, customs information, and physical milestones accurately in systems.
- Act as the operational point of contact for customers regarding transport status and delivery updates.
- Handle customer inquiries, issues, and incidents professionally and within agreed SLAs.
- Provide operational input to support sales or key account requirements when needed.
- Support transport billing, cost checking, and billing milestones.
- Assist in monitoring operational KPIs and performance metrics.
- Managing transport query & escalations.
- Ensure that any other work related duties given is completed within the specified timeline.
- Ensure compliance to customers and others relevant authorities and operating instructions.
- Ensure two ways communication with management level.
- Manage, monitor and ensure proper filing for the job completed.
- To achieve a good result in internal & external audits.
- To perform any other job functions and tasks as delegated by superior.
We are expecting the incumbent to meet these requirements:
- At least Diploma in any field.
- With minimum 2 years' experience in freight forwarding industry especially in road freight.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work.
- Additional skillsets required: detailed oriented, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Able to work in a fast pace and challenging environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
