Security Area Lead

To meet security challenges that exist in the country and within the industry, we have a security team with security officers in each geographical area. The group handles Sweden together and helps each other where needed with investigations, operations, and controls.

Main duties and responsibilities

As a Security Area Lead, your main task is to provide support and support to the terminals and offices within your geographical area. The role has an overarching task to provide that DHL Freight Sweden maintains the right security level related to authorities, customers, and internal requirements as well as towards our surroundings. Investigations regarding missing goods are carried out individually or in a team and in collaboration with authorities. The role includes maintaining overall customer knowledge regarding security technology in order to be able to propose and implement technical security solutions. A tool for this is audits (audit) and we work both proactively and strategically. The work is largely independent, requires good planning and initiative, and collaboration with others in the team primarily through Teams. You report to Head of Security Sweden and will work closely with other regional security officers as well as with site managers, terminal managers, and local security representatives that are present on each side.

Main duties

  • Initiate and conduct internal investigations mainly concerning losses, frauds, thefts, etc.
  • Participate in operations initiated by the security department centrally and lead these at the local level.
  • Collaborate and maintain contacts with the Police and Customs and, in some cases, other authorities, primarily linked to investigations and preventive work.
  • Implement and maintain policies and guidelines established by Corporate Security.
  • Regularly attend the terminals and collaborate with Site Manager and Local Security Representative (LSR).
  • Proactively work on security solutions with regard to external threats and risks for terminals within your region.
  • The role may also be responsible for Security Drills, therefore security drills may become relevant later in the role.

Experience and competencies needed to succeed in this role:

  • Understanding of technical security systems and their lifecycle.
  • Experience in working on security projects and collaborating with external partners.
  • Knowledge of SUA procurements and/or security safeguards.
  • Analytical ability.
  • Good ability to compile and produce policy and guideline documents.
  • Good ability to build relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Good ability to speak, read, and write in Swedish and English.
  • Ability to take responsibility for own planning and to work largely individually but also in teams when needed.
  • Experience in crisis planning and drills.
