The incumbent is responsible to oversee daily cross-border freight operations between Singapore and regional markets. The role is responsible for coordinating transportation, customs clearance, shipment tracking, compliance, and operational performance while ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery for customers.
• Supervise daily cross-border freight forwarding operations. • Managing the daily, end-to-end road freight operations, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring cross-border truck movements. • Plan, coordinate, and execute cross-border road freight shipments for both FTL and LTL with the objective of optimizing routes, schedules, and cargo loads to improve efficiency and reduce costs. • Liaise and coordinate with transporters, drivers, and warehouse team for pickup and delivery arrangements. • Prepare and verify shipping documentation (e.g., permits, invoices, packing lists, customs declarations). • Application for local and overseas customs permits for cross-border trucking. • Ensure compliance with Singapore and the relevant country's customs regulations and cross-border requirements. • Effectively monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, clearance issues, or operational disruptions. • Communicate with customers on shipment updates, delivery schedules, and exceptions. • Coordinate with internal departments, including operations and customer services, to ensure smooth operations. • Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and documentation. • Support billing processes, including cost verification and invoice preparation. • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and Manage supplier relationships to develop strategic partnerships. • Track KPIs such as transit time, delivery performance, cost control, and customer satisfaction
Requirements
- Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills. - At least 4 years of experience in freight forwarding or cross-border trucking operations. - Good knowledge of Singapore–Malaysia cross-border procedures and customs regulations. - Knowledge of TradeNet and/or customs declaration systems. - Strong coordination and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess Tertiary qualifications. - Knowledge of HS codes and tariff classifications. - Familiarity with GPS tracking systems or transport management systems (TMS). - Knowledge freight costing and pricing.
